Milad Mattar
Milad Mattar has worked on stage since 1988 — more than a hundred productions at Al-Karma Theatre in Haifa, roles in film and television from HBO to FOX, and in 2012 he founded the country's first talent agency for Arab actors. What he looks for in an actor, he knows from the inside.
Milestones
Steps onto the stage, and stays
A professional actor at Al-Karma Theatre — Beit HaGefen — in Haifa. More than a hundred productions since, for every age.
Graduate of Beit Zvi School of the Performing Arts
A diploma in the performing arts, after three years of study.
Brings stand-up to Arabic
Founds "Comedy for Free" with Saeed Salameh and Osama Masri — among the first to bring the form to Arabic-speaking audiences here, on stage and on television.
The storyteller
Professional storytelling in schools and public libraries, after specialist training.
The country's first agency for Arab actors
More than 150 professional actors, placed with local and international production companies.
Writer and director, not only actor
"Ashhab", about students who dislike school, has run for more than twelve years. "Layla in the Forest", on the environment, plays at Al-Karma. Someone who has written and directed knows a production from the other side of the camera.
The stage, and beyond it
Festival performances in the United States, France, Belgium, Germany, Morocco and the Czech Republic — and roles in productions shot in Bulgaria, Greece, Morocco and Tunisia.
Thirty-six years of performing for free
In hospitals and charities, continuously, alongside the work. In a business built entirely on trust between people, that is not a footnote.
From the stage, the set and the screen.
